Restoration of existing building damaged by tornado

Rosewell House
This is the finished exterior view of Rosewell.
The repairs include structural repairs; a new copper roof, gutters and downspouts;
rebuilt cornice, windows and shutters; and painted exterior trim.
The interior damaged plaster was repaired and repainted.  

The left side, once heavily damaged, now looks like it should.

The right side, where the family room and garage once stood, now has 2 new doors and stoops, and historically accurate windows.

The family room/garage addition was not historically accurate and heavily damaged by falling trees.

Exterior scaffold
Safety is important. Scaffold was errected to safely work on this large structure.

Painters at cornice

Safety is important in all phases of work. The painters used a lift to safely paint the exterior trim.

Rosewell windows repaired
The left side with the cornice rebuilt and painted. The windows have been repaired or replaced with custom sashes.
The missing shutters were replaced with custom shutters built by our craftsmen.

A new copper, standing-seam roof was installed with copper gutters and downspouts.

Rosewell floor protection
Protecting historic finishes is important to Hawkins Construction.
The floors were totally covered with masonite for protection during the construction work.

For protection, the stairs and railings were totally covered during construcion work.
